Toyota Avalon Trunk Problem

Driver side break light needs replacing. I pulled back carpet in trunk. No access from trunk. Must remove entire taillight assembly? I removed two hex bolts and assembly is loose but two snap-in mounting attach points remain. I don't want to break these. How do I release them so that I can remount the assembly and not break them? Am I proceeding in the correct steps to replace the bulb or should I be doing something else. see picture.

You probably have to press a tab on it to release it-they can be tricky

On my 1996 Avalon I kept getting the brake lite out sensor light. I found the wires at the bulbs will cause an open if allowed to drape down. I tucked them up and in and seems to solve the problem. Next time I will zip tie them in place. After removing the screws I just bumped the lense off to the side to remove.
