What other models come with the same engine

Alternator is bad, trying to salvage one is there any links or information available to find out what other vehicles will have same parts? Auto manufacturers do not make different parts for the many models and makes of several vehicle's. It would not be cost effective. With that being said I am also aware the cost of the (exact same part) has wide range of cost depending on the make and models. How can I find out the lowest list cost for that?

Most dodge caravans are the same model just different engines if you need an alternator it will normally be stamped on what amp it is, go by that.

Most junkyards will have that information in their computers, they will have all of the cross referencing you need

These can be tricky there is atleast three different amp alternators and usually there not marked which amp it is. If you call the dealer with your vin number handy they can tell you which amp you have.I will look up which alternators are the same. Personally I wouldn't put a used alternator in my car.I have enough trouble getting a good rebuilt or new one that will last.
