Just rebuilt the engine on the vehicle listed above. It's that 4.3l v6 vortec engine. I put it all back together and now when I try to start it, it makes a like a gulping sound. I don't know why it's doing this.

Hi,

Other than the sound, is it running? Also, is it loud enough for you to record and upload?

However, the normal cause of gulping type noises is due to a timing or compression issue. So if you just rebuilt the engine, I would suggest starting with checking the compression and make sure it is correct.

Let me know. I just need a little more information.

Take care,

Joe
