Hi- My 1997 Jetta had the clutch pedal stick half way engaged and we could not change gears. Pumping it all the way down and up about 10 times cured it. I was thinking that it may be a leak in the hydraulic clutch. I was going to add some fluid and I cld not find the reservoir. Do I have a cable clutch or other non hydraulic? If so, what can cause this problem that I had?

The clutch assy is cable driven you might wanna start with the clutch retaining strap.
