When I turn the key engine will not crank and there is no sound

The lights work fine, and the stereo works fine, and the fuel pump works, but no other sound when I turn the key. The ignition is a little messed up, but it's been fine until one day it just wouldn't start. I thought it was my messed-up battery cables, but I re-twisted them all, cleaned the connectors and all the other electrical works fine. Do you think it's the starter?

Hello,

Typically, when you get no click no sound no crank, it points to an issue with the ignition switch.

See if you can start it by providing direct power to the starter. If the starter is good, you will be able to crank and start the engine by jumping the starter.

You mentioned that you have an issue with the ignition. Can you tell me what issue you have?

Did it give you this same problem before?

Many times, a faulty ignition switch will turn on all the power but will not start due to malfunction.
