Hello, I need to replace the oil pump but in order to do that I need to pull off the crankshaft sprocket. I am guessing a puller will help but I am having trouble finding one that will work. There is very little clearance between the crankshaft sprocket and the oil pump and there are no holes in the sprocket to insert bolts. Do you have any ideas?

These should only be a slid on fit. If you get two levers behind the gear and pry back carefully it should slid off.

Just go easy and let me know if you have any trouble, do not force anything.

Hello, I tried a couple things and both did not work. First I tried to use a flat head screw driver to pry on one side. I tried to use another screw driver on the other side but could find anywhere to pry. Next I tried to use a pry bar on the right side but it still did not budge. I have attached a video to show you.

If you are careful you might heat up the gear with a small household propane torch (slow circles on the gear face).

Stay away from the shaft, it needs to remain cool as possible.

The idea is to expand the gear hole.

Then attempt the prying once more.

If you are hesitant to attempt the torch, wrap some aluminum foil around the shaft, use a heat gun to heat the gear (being that it is hot air going every which-away, the aluminum foil may keep the shaft cooler).

Picture below is removing the nuts off of U-bolts on my Jeep's leaf springs.
