I have the car listed above LX, Auto, ( ZM ) Transmission ( FN4A-EL ).
I have a few questions regarding doing an ATF change with filter removal and reinstall.
What would be the torque specs for the Transmission pan bolts and Drain plug during reassembly?
After refilling the ATF, I want to check for the level to be at full on the cold temperature fluid stick end (20celsius), correct?
After the initial ATF cold level fluid check, I want to do a drive test and fill if necessary to the top of the Hot fluid (60celsius) stick end, correct?

Hi,

What you described as far as checking fluid level should work fine. The only suggestion I have is this. Fill it to the cold level. Start the engine and run through the gears. Turn the engine off and check to make sure it isn't low before driving.

I attached the torque specifications below. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Ah yes. I was planning on running through the gears. Thank you very much. Is around 5-10ft. Lbs enough to tighten the Transmission drain plug?

Hi,

That sounds like it would be fine. I can't find the specs as far as the drain plug itself, but 10 ft/lbs should be good.

I did find the specs for the pan bolts and attached it below. It indicates the torque in inch-pounds rather than foot-pounds. Note it says 69.5 to 95.4 in/lbs. If you convert it to foot-pounds, 84 inch-pounds equals 7 foot-pounds. So, you sound like you are right on target.

Let me know if you have other questions or if there is something I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe

Okay cool. Torque to 7 Ft-Lbs for transmission pan bolts and 5-10 Ft-Lbs for transmission drain plug. Thanks a lot.

You are very welcome. Let me know how things turn out for you. Also, try to keep the drain plug closer to 10 ft/lbs.

Take care,

Jo
