If I buy a new conductor plate or a valve body, which one needs programming to the car?

I bought it with a dead battery, jumped it and it started, took it for a drive on my driveway and second gear just slips.

Hi,

If the integrated transmission control module (VGS) is what requires coding.

Also, I attached a technical service bulletin below which I found that may be of interest to you. Take a look at it and let me know your thoughts.
