My vehicle has a five speed manual transmission. Noise started coming from the transmission area just today. I know the clutch needs to be replaced. When I start in first gear things are fine until I reach third gear. That is when it gets noisy. Pretty loud also. Fourth and fifth gears are also fine. Only third gear is noisy. I have checked gear oil level. It is fine. What can cause this noise?

It is probably one of the three items in the picture, the gear, bearing or synchro or the counter shaft worn out. So it would need to be pulled apart and fixed. There are two different transmissions in this truck.
