I have 1993 toyota p.U. 4x4, 2.4, 22re. The motor was swapped out with a 94 22re. Been running great for aprox 2 yrs. The 94 motor has 187k miles on it. I have just started having a problem with accelerating, after shifting from 2nd to 3rd and at 1900 rpm the engine acts like you take your foot off the gas. The engine is not stalling, and can take off repeating this over. If the truck is parked, in neutral, running, I can slowly bring the rpm up to 1900 and hold it there, it rev up and down about 500 rpms. ( Between 1900 to 14-1500 ) I have installed a new throttle position sensor with no luck. Any help would be great.

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
