My landcruiser is making a sound like you are driving
over a grate in the road, only intermittantly and
only for a second or two at the most at a time.
No shaking or rattling, just a gshsshh gshhhh
sort of a sound, two mechanics drove it and neither heard the sound or detected any major problem.
Rotated the tires, I heard it a few days later.
Has new(er) front brakes and new bearings in the front. If anyone has any ideas please email
valentcm2@charter. Net

My truck has a lot of miles 208,000.

Hi there,

Check that the wheel bearings are adjusted correctly, check if the swivel hubs are leaking, if so the inner axle tube seal is faulty, and the grease in the huh is being washed away, this can cause noises in the CV and stub axle end bushes.
