Good morning, while driving my Corolla the car will suddenly lose energy and the check engine light comes on. I don't realize it is happening until I literally have the gas pedal all the way down and the car is still slowing down to a stop. I pull over and when I try to change gears from drive into park my gears clunk through neutral to reverse and then to park. With the car still on I attempt to switch gears from park back to drive and it clunks from gear to gear. Since the car does not have the energy to drive anywhere I turn the car off and let it sit. Within minutes I turn the car back on and it is working fine. No problem switching gears and the power is restored but the check engine light is still on. I took it in last week to have the codes run and get it fixed. They told me it wasn't the transmission it was the fuel induction system. The car drove fine for four days and now the problem is back again. I have called several auto repair shops and no one seems to know what is wrong with my car. Any ideas? I am the only owner as I bought my car new. I do a lot of driving commuting about 80-100 miles per day.

Probably a good idea to have Toyota look at it.

The fuel system consists of sensors, injectors, fuel pump, pressure regulator etc. Any of these could cause the problems you describe.
