I was recently towing a small caravan up mount ousley and pressed the overdrive off button to the off position indicated by the light (off)coming on in the display window on the dash, well it came on for about 10 seconds and it went off and stayed off and any further attempts to turn it on failed since.
I checked all fuses and connections and all appeared ok.
The only other indicator that does not work is the fuel door open, light does not work but unsure if it worked prior to this last test.
Can you help me before I go to a toyota dealer and get hit by a big bill I can not afford.
Kind regards David

Hi david112,

If you had not used the OD switch for a long time, the OD solenoid tends to get stuck once you use it. Quite a common problem.

There should be an OD fuse, I am not sure is on driver side fuse box under dash or passenger side kick panel.

The trans would not upshift to OD so you need to run the vehicle for quite some time and keep operating the OD switch to see if it can kick the solenoid into life.
