Hello. I had the car for almost three years until about a few weeks ago the check engine light came on. The car was working normally at the beginning but I noticed whenever I filled up for gas the car would have a hard time starting up and it would almost stall.

I went to a friend who has a diagnostic machine and he connected it to my engine and it came up with two error codes:

P0441: Evaporative emission control system incorrect

P0446: Evaporative emission control system vent control circuit malfunction.

What do you guys think what is going on with my car so that I could tell the mechanic exactly what the problem is and if possible, could you give me an estimation of how much the repairs are going to cost.

Hello,

Those codes P0441 and P0446 usually gets triggered together due to EVAP system not being able to purge properly.
That's why when you fill up the gas tank it has hard time starting as the pressure inside the tank is higher that it should be.
This type of issue typically happens dues to having a faulty vapor canister purge solenoid.
This can also happen if the vapor canister is clogged as well.
