The brake lights on my corolla will not shut off, occasionally they will blink. From all indications it seems to be the brake switch, so I took a look and there is one cable that comes off of the brake switch that is hanging down and isn't attached to anything. Something hit my leg while driving the night this began, so I'm assuming the cable is the main issue, but I have no clue where to plug it back in. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

There should be a wire in and a wire out of the switch, if one is disconnected the brake lights should not be working at all, take the plug off the switch and see if the lights go off, if so replace the switch, if not there is a problem in the loom which will need to be investigated.
