and now I need to figure out how to get the door panels off.
where can I find that information?

Use the car repair link in this thread or get a Haynes manual.

The larger problem is that the dew wipes (the squegge rubber thing that seals the window from water intrusion) are probably hard and brittle due to age and letting water inside the door.

You can also buy lock lubricant that will help "unfreeze" the lock and help with further icing problems.

Generally, you remove the inside door handle (remove screw covers), the window crank or power window switch, and the interior door handle. The panel pops out, it is held in place with plastic retainers. The outside door handle is bolted to the door frame from the inside.
