1990 Toyota Corolla battery and brake lights

Hi,

My brake and battery light keep coming on at the same time. What does that mean?

Both lights should not be related so I guess is a loose wiring connection at the meter cluster.

Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running, it should be at least 13.5 to 14.5V. If it is in the 12V range the alternator probably needs replacing.

If you still have the brake light problem, check the switch at the parking brake and the master cylinder warning light sender.
