Car will not stay running. I was told the car is running too rich. Lots of black carbon on spark plugs and blows black smoke also. Tried to adjust fast & slow idle screws, but does nothing.I have had the carb worked on 3 time and I don't know who to trust any more.

Hi there,

You may have a problem with the float level being to high, a faulty needle and seat, loose main jet, faulty accelerator check valve or power valve. So you will have to find a carby workshop as many mechanics these days have no experience with the humble carby. Playing with the settings may only make things worse. So best check around by phone to find someone into carbys.
