I was driving my car (1990 Toyaota celica GT liftback manual 2.2L) the other day when the battery charge light came on. Not long after that (the next morning) the car died. I bought a new battery, but when I installed it the charge light stayed on. I have a feeling it's a bad alternator, however I am not sure does anyone have advice. Thanks.

The easiest way is to the test the voltage across the battery with a meter. Lights on engine running it should read 13.8 to 14.7. If it is below 13V then replace the alternator. I know, take it to the zone and they will do it free. I just don't trust the zone. Too may bad experiences.
