Ever ince I got my car, it always made a puttering sounds as it accelerated. Recently its been havin problems accelrating. When I press on the accelerator it like chokes n starts making that puttering sounds n it rocks back n forth to accelerate. Sometimes I woudl push the accelerator ALL THE WAY DOWN n it would take real long for it to go faster.

Do you have a check engine light and when was the last tune-up?

Possibilities: Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it.
