1985 camry 2S-E Engine.I bought this car from a good friend of mine and she stated it would not start. Well come to find out it was running before it died and it wouldn't restart. Well I got it home and started to look at reason's why it wouldn't start. I've replaced the dist cap, rotor bug, plug's and wires and still won't start but i've got fire to the plug's. I've checked the fuel filter and it has pressure, i've checked the injector pigtail's and it has 12 volt's so I know the efi relay and fuse is good. I've used starting fluid and still not wanting to start but when I 1st hit the key it hesitates then it act's like it's not getting fuel to the plug's. The injectors aren't even making noise. But the fuel is getting in the fuel rail as normal. I've even checked to see if the intake port was getting air by placing my palm up against the tube and it's working. So i'm wondering if it's the injectors or the timing has jumped a tooth. Car has 180,000 miles. Would this engine have a belt or chain

I think the injectors not open. Check if they are posed.

This car has a belt on the timing. I have a 1991 camry and I have the same problem it was parked for 4 years and it ran before it was parked ive changed the spark plugs & wires, dist. Cap & rotor, the battery and nothing.I was wondering how to check for pressure in the fuel fillter? Please if u can help me figure this out that would be great. And with ur timeing belt if u take the motor mount if in the way and slip off the belt from the pulieys and take off the timeing belt cover and have someone else turn the key, and look to see if the belt turns then u know if the belt is good. The car has been parked for 4 years, this is the clue. The gasoline in the tank has been contaminated. This cause the fuel pump malfunctioned. You should flush the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump. I guess this is the problem. Try it.
