In process of removing P/S DriveBelt, have vehicle on
jacks, wheel removed, engine supported with jack.
loosened (2) bolts on power steering pump - belt still has tension and can't really move pump in direction to
loosen tension because pump currently positioned with no adjustment room left on that "slide bracket"
for lack of proper term. Have completely loosen upper
and lower bolts and attempted to wiggle pump free.
can I "tap pump" from above? Or would removing pulley be an option? Limited area to work in not even
sure I can remove bolt completely. Please advise

Hi there,

If the drive belt is a bit small and will not slip off, you can turn it of by holding pressure as if you are holding to roll it off the pulley, then slowly turn the engine by hand, this will roll the belt off and will not damage it, or you can undo the pulley.
