High idle
Engine Performance problem
1995 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Automatic 132560 miles
my car had low idle speed on cold start up, sometimes it used to die immediately on cold start up or when put into drive; then i replaced the idle air control valve but now the idle speed is high (about 2000 rpm) when in parking gear; but seems fine in drive...what could be the problem and solution...thanks

sounds like a vacuum leak.... did u remove the throttle body or intake tube prior to replacing the IAC???? it may be as simple as a loose hose clamp, or pinched gasket.

first i had to open the air intake tube and then the throttle body to replace the IAC. I have done it twice and its the same problem both times...
