Shakes or Wobbles problem
1996 Toyota 4Runner Two Wheel Drive Automatic 105000 miles

I have a 1996 Toyota Runner SR5. A couple of days ago I ran over a fist-sized rock going 30 mph. Since then it vibrates a lot when I'm on the freeway going over 55 mph. It vibrates when I accelerate at low speeds or when I go uphill, too. I thought the wheels might need balancing because it doesn't seem to be an alignment problem. My SUV had the front wheel alignment and all wheels balanced in 3/09. When I'm coasting or not accelerating it doesn't vibrate. The steering wheel vibrates a little but not much. Also, I noticed it seems hot under the hood or car after driving 20 min but the temperature gauge is in between Cold and Hot.

If you haven't done an alignment or wheel balance in over a year you should get that done. Also besides a balance it could be your wheel bearings. Alignments are recommended every 20k miles or 1 year, and balances every 15k.
