We have a 93 Toyota 4Runner that quit while we were driving down the road as if it was out of fuel. We added gas and it still would not start. We changed the fuel pump and it did nothing. The new fuel pump doesn't even run as if it's not getting any juice. The old fuel pump will run and may not have been the problem to start with. Could it be a relay and if so which one and which location? We do have a manual but it is not entirely helpful. We appreciate any help and suggestions. Thanks, Leslie

Frist of all you need to make sure you are getting power to the fuel pump and if your old one is working then you need to make sure it is pumping this can be dangerous so use a light base oil like a cooking oil not cold but warm insert bottom of pump into oil and hook up connection for a very short period if it pumps any fluid out its not the feul pump or the relay. If you do a pressure check on the feul rail or at the fuel filter this could save extra steps if fuel is getting through then it could be the cadlyic converter if it started losing power over a short period of time then died.
