I came across a statement that there are some kind of timing marks on the rear of the cams. If anyone can shed some light on this I would appreciate it. Thanks Ron

Since there are no marks on the cam pulley I have no way to line up with the marks. Thanks for getting back to me. Ron

The marks should be there, the gears have not been put on back to front by chance? Wash and carefully inspect, they should be there.

The pulleys have not been off since I started the job, but I found some marks barely visible on the intake and one possible on the exhaust that cannot work because the lobes are down and piston would hit the valves. I do not know what has been done on this car before I came by it but I have found a few things that are at least unorthodox. Thanks a lot for your help it just seems to be one of those oddballs. Ron
