I bought a used 2011 Chevrolet camaro rs from a dealership 2 weeks ago an I started to notice a "ticking" sound when it idles an its louder when its a cold start. I took it back to the service dept an the Guy told me that sound was normal for all camaros and it was part of the performance! I was just wanting to see if that was actually the problem an of other people's camaros actually did "tick" normally?

It may be piston slap that you are hearing. It doesn't more cold than hot. It doesnt' do any harm just annoying sometimes. Not much you can do about it other than to replace pistons but I wouldn't do that.

It is not normal for piston slap. If you have piston slap then you have some problem internally a good mechanic would be able to tell you that.
