I need to know the name of the braided wire pipe between the flange and the catalytic converter and the length it is supposed to be. So I can order a new one. Thank you for your time. Also, if you could please submit a diagram of my fuse box because this is the one that was in my car, thank you.

Hi,

The original part is a single unit with the catalytic converter and is called front exhaust pipe with 3 way catalytic converter. Check the figure 1 below.

Check the figures below from fig1 to fig 8 for fuse diagram.

Let us know if you need more help.

Thank you.

Hi there, umm yes I know it's the exhaust pipe. But the piece that is the braided wire piece is the part I need the name for. I've looked it up on Rockauto. Com an it is the in the exhaust and emissions (pipe category flex pipe connecter). I don't understand it and also I need the length so I get the right one. They already have 1 on my car that's too big for my exhaust. I'm pretty sure mine takes the 4" it's really small. Thank you for your time.

Hi again,

braided wire piece you can't purchase by itself it's a single unit with the catalytic converter as a one piece. Check the part catalytic converter at Rock Auto you will find it as a single unit.

Thank you.

Umm i'm sorry, but i've got to disagree with you sir. Here is a picture of a bunch of them separately, different sizes and what not. It's under (tools, universal parts, exhaust and emissions, pipe, flex pipe connecter. ) I'm just not sure the size for my vehicle. If you could help me with this i'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Hello,

Yes, aftermarket parts you can have separate units, but in original VW catalogue it's a one piece unit.

It's better to measure on your exhaust to get the proper size, I asked a friend of mine VW specialist, if your exhaust is original core size is 2 inch and the length 4 inch, take measurements for proper fit on your car.

Thank you.

Okay, and yes thank you for your help. I'm not sure the length it's supposed to be? I believe it is 4" in length and I already know the dia from having to work on the exhaust. That's why I've got problems they have a piece on there I believe it is 6"or bigger because it doesn't want to go over the crossmember properly and has caused me all kinds of problems. But once again I thank you for your time.
