The van starts fine after sitting overnight. Subsequent starts can take five minutes. Engine idles and runs smoothly.

Hi:

When you say it's harder to start after the vehicle has been run, the first thing that comes to mind is the crankshaft position sensor. When they start going bad, they are adversely affected by heat. When it happens, can you explain how the engine is reacting? Is it possible for you to record it and upload it for me to hear?

Take a look through these links. They describe what the sensor is, symptoms of a bad one, and in general how one is replaced. See if the symptoms mirror what you experience. Also, if you find this is the issue, I can provide specific directions for replacement.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care.
