I want to change my front left control arm and I noticed the control arm has been rubbing on the aluminum sub-frame and it has almost wore through it. What can I do to fix it or is it not fixable? I do not want to put any money in it until I find out if I can fix it without changing the whole sub-frame. I want to give it to my daughter for her first car and I want it to be safe for her to drive. Please answer ASAP.

It looks like you should be able to remove the arm and have a welder make up a small plate and weld it to the top of the sub frame then just use a longer bolt.

Please send pictures of the repair once it is complete. :)

Cheers, Ken
