Greetings
In my 2000 subaru outback wagon 5spd manual as I drive it sounds great, but once I take my foot off(suddenly) of the gas in the rear it sounds like a big thud or clunk mainly at low speeds and at high speeds when I take my foot off the gas it sounds like a bicycle when you back pedal during coasting but much louder. Again this is only when gears are engaged and I suddenly relieve pressure on the gas. Thanks

First step is to check the engine and transaxle mounts, at 210,000 it might be time for new ones.
The clicking from the back? Notice if the back is sagging at all?

Hey thanks for the response, its not sagging and it sounds more like its coming from the rear, its a loud thump when I pull my foot off of the gas and sometimes when engaging if I dont engage smoothly.

Struts and strut mounts can make these types of noises, especially if you can see oil on the body of the strut. The mounting plates wear out as well and can allow too much movement. 210,000 is a lot of miles, and suggested replacement of struts is 50,000 miles.
