Got code P0743, indicating "torque converter clutch circuit electrical." Looked at a couple of sites, including a Toyota site that indicated serious troubleshooting to determine if problem is ECM, shift solenoid valve, or harness/connectors.

Any suggestions?

I'm not into heavy maintenance, i.E, going into the transmission to check/change valve.

BTW, what's the ECM?

Many thanks!

I would expect a high probablity of the the solenoid.

However if there has been work done that the harness was damaged, that can change things.

The ECM is the electronic control module AKA the "computer". Powertrain control module. Tamatoes, tahmahtoes.

Do you want testing procedures?
