Electrical problem
2003 Subaru Impreza 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 90k miles

Started to change the spark plugs and was able to replace three of the four. The fourth spark plug left me baffled, it would seem the spark plug has someway sunken down out of the reach. Which I didnt think possible
Steps Ive have taken.
1. Grab mirror flash light and look down hole of problem spark plug and compared it with one of the freshly replaced plugs. From a visual observation it looks further down.
2. Next stuck finger down hole of good spark plug hole and was able to feel the plug on tip of finger. Did some with problem hole and couldnt feel it.
3. From the above two steps concluded that problem plug is different size. Bought spark plug socket set and tryed them all but to no avail.

At a lost what to do next?

Has anyone done work on the engine before? It sounds like it may be cross threaded and pointed differently than the others.I have never noticed any difference when changing them, especially different size sockets.

Not that im aware of. When I look down the hole the tip of teh spark plug seems to be dead center. I would think that if it was cross threaded the tip of teh spark plug would offset? Is there any chance that the spark plug could have deformed?

Not likely. You cant get a plug socket to go on it?Look carefully to see if the rubber end of the plug wire is stuck on the plug, this will keep the socket from reaching down far enough to remove it
