It turns the engine on but does not crank and after trying it for six or more seconds. It shows the oil light but when I check my oil is okay, and when they push start it, it starts.

You need to check for power at the main starter terminal (large cable) it should be twelve volts constant, and there should be twelve volts at the solenoid wire on the starter (small wire) only with the key on crank. If this is so have the starter removed and over hauled as it will probably be faulty. If no power at solenoid wire on crank, check terminal is clean and tight and if that is okay. Check for a problem at the ignition switch not switching. Does your car have a clutch switch? That is that the clutch needs to be pressed while starting. If so check this switch as well. Start here.

Hi thanks for your help, although I have left the car on for twenty minutes and it just started without a problem when I tried it after that twenty minutes, then switched it off for an hour or two then it does not want to start now.

Okay, just run through what I have mentioned already and see if that is all okay. If not please advise exactly what you find with the tests as mentioned so I can advise further.
