Our car would not start Saturday. Tried to give it a jump. But when we put the cables to each of the batteries. It caused a big sparking from the connections. So we changed out the battery with a new one. Nothing happened. We then took off the starter and had it tested, tested good. Put it back together. Tried starting it again and nothing. When the key is turned in the on position the dash lights come on, the door buzzer does not ding, no radio time displayed on radio. No heater fan.

The sparking jumper cables means you hooked them up backward. That will cause multiple fuses to blow to try to protect the many delicate computers. Start by checking all the fuses under the hood and inside the car.
