I had a friend put bushings on the driver's side stabilizer bar and he stripped it. There are no threads on the bar. Can I rethread it with tap and dye set and if so, what size dye do I use?

Hello,

Can you upload a picture of the thread in question?

Rethreading will depend on the material of the bar. Depending on the metal compound it may be difficult to rethread it.
Also keep in mind that anytime rethreading is done, the overall diameter of the threaded area will be smaller than original. Which will require different size nuts. It can also create extra play.

As for the size of the tap and die set, unfortunately we do not have the information of the diameter of the original thread.
However most auto parts stores have a tap and dye set that you can borrow that will have multiple sizes of tap and dye.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
