When I start it up, it makes a pretty loud squeaking sound around the serpent belt area. It gets quieter after it runs a bit. I sprayed some WD40 on the serpent belt and it stops right away. However, after it sits it will make the noise again when I start up.

Good afternoon.

If the noise went away, the metal ribs are showing on the belt. I would replace the belt and the tension-er together.

Just change the belt. It is dried out.
