Speedometer jumping up and down replaced VSS sensor and pigtail, no change. It gets worse when hot I need a new cluster.

Good evening my name is Roy and I will assist. It sounds like you have an issue with the cluster itself. This video shows the job being done on a similar car but the process is the same.

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem. Roy

These cars have a fairly common problem with the connector to the VSS itself. I have seen a few of them go bad over the years. Does the car start shifting gears up and down without rhyme or reason when the speedometer is jumping? If so, then get a new connector/harness and splice it in. I bet it fixes the problem.

Yes, it shifts when speed needle jumps and that is what I thought. Mechanic did too he replaced it and it did not fix it. Any other solutions? Could it be the input sensor do they work together? Also, could it have anything to do with multi-function switch on column my hi/low beam does not work. Thanks for your input.
