I work up and went outside to get my mail and I noticed my windshield wipers were on. So I went to check out my car to find the ignition cylinder lock out sitting in the seat and a philip head screw driver in the seat. My driver door was lock picked. I managed to put the ignition back in insense they left it my power works and everything had to get a jump start. Tried to turn the car on and it starts for 5 secs perfectly find then dies right away. What is likely the problem for this and can I fix it myself without paying alot

Looks like I managed to find out one more thing I went in my car and took the ignition back out and realized that the black rounded part around the ignition was cut does this mean my security system was destroyed in an attempt to steal the vehicle

Sounds like they cut the wire to the key reader. Is there enough wire coming off the key reader to resplice the wire back together?

Use a butt connector to splice it back together. If there is enough room for the button connector to fit in there.

Sure, strip both wires enough to put them together, about an 1/4 inch, then turn the soldering iron on and let it heat up, then clean the tip of the iron by running solder over it and then wiping it on a wet shop or paper towel. Then heat each wire up individually and then coat them with solider. Now hold the two wires together and heat, the solider will heat the then melt together, hold together until cool, cover in black electrical tape and you are all set.

Let us know if you need anything else.

Best, Ken

Is the security light flashing? If so roll up all of the windows and lock the doors, then let the car sit for 15 minutes and then unlock the drivers door using the key, it should reset the system.

Best, Ken
