Tire inflator via the front accessory outlet when it stopped working

After checking every fuse in the vehicle, I came to the conclusion that it might be a relay or the outlet itself. In order to access the relay for the accessory outlet, one bolt has to be removed so the left of the dash support can be sprung out of the way to access the relays in the fuse compartment. All checked ok. I finally determined the center console can be popped open (shift stick has to be placed in drive to remove it) and gained access to the outlet. I found that it has a small fusible link incorporated with the outlet! Of course, this was the issue. I temporarily replaced the link with a jumper so I could use my GPS on a trip and then put a new leaded fuse in when I returned. Not sure why this is fused and why the link blew before any of the regular fuses opened but wanted to let anyone else who might have this problem know the solution. The console top isn't too hard to pop off (no screws need to be removed), and the outlet attached via a fast connect, and then the shell unscrews so the outlet can be removed and serviced. No exact replacements are available.

That is a good one, I have never heard of a fusible link being used for a power supply socket. Thanks for the information, I am sure it will help many that have the same problem. Please feel free to use 2CarPros anytime!

I appreciate the reply and have used 2CarPros in the past. In fact, they got me the wiring diagrams for this very problem which allowed me to trace the issue (the diagrams don't show the fusible link on the power outlet). Great resource - glad I could add something.

Good to hear, I have seen many things that are left out of wiring diagrams for some reason, all we can do is note the mistakes and give feedback to Alldata or Mitchell 1.
