While driving yesterday my car randomly shifted rough from first to second. As in it jerked really hard. I got to where I was going with it doing that maybe twice. Then when leaving my location, I put the car into reverse and it jerked really hard, and also going from first to second again. It proceeded to do this almost the entire twenty mile ride home. Now it won't even go into reverse without revving really high first and then proceeding to jerk. Same with first and second again. The transmission and computer were replaced about two years ago. Help! I'm a single mom of 3 and need this car working!

Was the transmission you had put in 2yrs ago used or rebuilt/remanufactured? Also have you had the car scanned for codes?Sounds like from the symptoms you have you have a worn pressure regulator bore in the valve body skewing the incorrect pressure amount or you have a loose input shaft nut which is under the transmission side cover. Both are in car repairs don't need to remove the transmission. I would have to have some pressure readings possible codes in the computer to tell you more.

It was used with only 80'000 miles and has worked perfectly up until now. My dad is my mechanic, he's ase certified in fords, but this seems to stump him. I'll go get the codes done tonight. It does have random codes because the computer was also replaced and was used. But I'll look for specific codes for this problem and let you know. Thank you so much!
