I have a Saturn SL2 and since i've had the car the Cooling fan hasn't come on. I checked the 30 amp fuse and swapped the relay with a different one. Both okay. Where do I look next. Whats the most common problem with the cooling fan system? It wasn't a problem during the winter and as long as i'm on the highway the temp is fine. The problem comes when i'm stuck in city traffic.

Hello, will the fan come on if you turn on the AC? With some systems the fan will run if you unplug the coolant temp sensor. A faulty sensor could cause the fan not to come on. Have you tried using jumpers off the battery to fan connector, take the connector loose, to see if the fan will run? You probably should use inline fuse with jumper.

Also check the relay that controls the fan, it may be not closing properly.
