Computer problem
2001 Saturn SL1 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 76,870 miles

Hi, My car has had the check engine light on for over a year. Three different shops have tried to fix it, it will go off for a day, then right back on. I was just given codes P0301 and P0507. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way the car drives or performs. It's had a recent tune up, gas cao is on tightly. Where should I start with getting this light to go off?

the p0301 is cyl 1 missifire and p0507 is high idle.from the codes and the yr and model of ur car I would say best bet is u have a leaky Intake gasket causing a vaccuum leak at ur number 1 cyl causing it to miss on that cyclinder an have a high idle it would cause the problem to be intermintant.take a flash light look on the passenger side where the intake meets the head u will be able to see the gasket it will look all wrinkled up.it's below the power steering pump area u can let the car ldle get some carb spray and spray around that area if the idle gets higher or the car misses or dies u have a leak in that area.let me know what u find.
