Car: 99 Saturn SC, 160,000 miles

Ok heres the situation - My girlfriend left work to pick up some food when she went to get back into the car after being in the store for a few minutes the car wouldn't start so she went beck to work. We went back over together and on the first turn I got the car to start so she drove it to work but as soon as she shut the engine off it once again will not start, its been a few hours. The car does not crank or even begin to turn over but the headlights/radio/dash instruments all work fine. I am pretty sure that the starter is bad but could it be something else? On my car the starter went up and to get it home - a few whacks with a hammer and it started up but I am not sure where the starter is on a 99 saturn. Any help is appreciated, Thanks - Jon

The problem is I have a 2000 SW2 Saturn with 123,500 miles on it, and is a 4 cylinder engine (2.0)

The issue at hand, is that is has begun to not start sometimes. What it will do is when I put the key in the ignition, turn the key, nothing happens. The lights come on the dash, the radio works fine as well as the air conditioning, and everything beeps accordingly. But nothing happens with the starter and engine. It will not even click. Just dead silence.
I have let it set for a couple of days and then you put the key in and it will start right up. It will run for a couple weeks and then it will start all over again.
I have checked the battery levels and it is fully charged, as well as full with coolant and oil level is fine.

It just will not start nor try to. I am not sure if it is the starter itself and ignition. Please help as this is my only car and can not work until it is fixed.

Thank you very much.
