1999 SL2 My power door locks are continuously clicking on and off. This has run my battery down once. I have thought about removing the fuse for the door locks, but I don't have the owner's manual and I'm not sure if the power windows are on the same fuse. Help!

Hi jmcdawg,

The key lock/unlock sensor switch is malfunctioning due to bad contacts.

If passenger door lock can control the central lock as well, you need to check both sides switches.

My car does the same thing. At first, it was just one door that was acting up, then all four doors. When I talked to my mechanic, he said that he would have to take each door apart because each door has its own locking system or mechanism. He gave me a rate of around $200 per door, which would problably flat out at around $1000 total. He suggested that I shut down the electrical system of the car, which would eliminate the problem all together- I would just have to manually lock and unlock the doors. I think I'm going to go w/ this b/c my battery just died again after only 2 months.
