I have had my daughters car at 3 mechanincs, noone can seem to find the problem. GM ran it through the computer and there are no codes. What happens is that the car at low idle (at a red light or stop sign) stalls and will not restart for 4-5 minutes. We have changed the battery but it still does it. The problem is intermittent so noone can solve it.

Hi janweber,

Thank you for the donation.

Without any trouble codes and being an inermittent problem, it is never easy to diagnose.

When engine stalled and could not be started, that is the time you need to check what is missing causing the non restarting. You have only a few minutes so time is rather short to check unless you have an assistant and a scanner would help.

The other thing that you need to note would be any irregularities prior to it stalling.

What is the idling speed when engine is at operating temperature?
Does engine stall only when A/C is turned on?
Was anything such as throttle body and IAC ever checked or cleaned?
Try swapping out the fuel pump relay, it could be intermittently failing.
