The engine on this vehicle was replaced in 2008, but the car mileage is 94000 roughly. About a month ago, the A/C was on - it was 100 degrees outside, the A/C started blowing hot air and then the temperature gauge went from normal to hot in less than 60 seconds. What is the issue and approximately how much is the part? Thanks!

It's not that easy to come up with an answer especially over the internet. The two could be related if the engine get's hot enough the a/c pressure could get high enough to shut the compressor down. Most likely what happens in that case is the cooling fan is not working correctly. So are your cooling fan's working you have two one for the radiator and one for the a/c. Also do you have any trouble code's?Do you have auto climate control or manual a/c. Let me know what you find.

According to AutoParts Now that ran a diagnostic, there were no trouble codes. It was this gentlemen's impression that the cooling fan was shutting down which was causing the temperature gauge to run hot. Any help is greatly appreciated.
