What is easiest way to replace faulty ignition cylinder? I wouldn't mind having to use a toggle switch as car is my winter beater.

Hi jpl4257,

Thank you for the donation.

I believe you mean the ignition switch. Even if you use a toggle switch, you would need to get to the wires. Here are a description of the removal procedures.

IGNITION SWITCH

Removal & Installation

1. Disconnect battery. Remove passenger seat. Remove center console and fold back carpet. Remove heater duct. Disconnect electrical wires to ignition switch, reverse light and inhibitor switch (automatic transmission models).

2. On automatic transmission models, make a reference mark on shifter cable and disconnect. On all models, remove gear selector housing bolts and lay selector housing on side. Remove ignition switch screws and remove ignition switch.

3. To install, align ignition switch with lock assembly and install. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
