Hello,

I am looking for the trim (oval shape) that goes around the lock. The dealer wants to charge me 1900$+labor because they said that part is not made, it comes with the door trim itself (whole interior door trim).

Someone broke in the car and when the dealer return it to me, I brought up the fact that the little lock trim needs to be fixed. They said "don't worry, that part costs like 5 cents, we gona order the parts and put it on for you"... Few months later they say it will be 1900$ + labour.

I hope someone can help!

Thank you.

Did this happen while the car was in their possession? Or was it broken into and they did the repairs?

To tell you the truth, I did not notice that the trim was cracked when I took the car to the dealer (but could have been). When they returned the car, they said it was cracked. Recently I went back to the dealer because the lock was not going down (stayed up all the time). They fixed it but when they returned the car, the cracked trim was missing! Before getting possession of the car, I told them that I need the trim back. They said they will look for it and call me if they find it. I told them to write a note stating that the trim was missing when they returned the car back (and made them sign). I never got a call back so I am trying to follow up on this. I am going to the dealer on Friday.

Usually you need to state that you want parts back before repairs are done, that way the tech knows to keep them. But if it was totally missing when you got it back, have a nice chat with the service manager, if that wont work ask for the area reps phone number
