While I'm driving with my foot on the accelerator my truck will cut off for a second each time it happens. What could be the issue?

Hi,

You indicated, "my truck will cut off for a second each time it happens." Is the truck cutting off the issue or does something happen and then the truck cuts off?

Let me know. However, if it is the cutting off, that sounds like an engine misfire. When was the truck last tuned up? Take a look through this link, you may find it helpful:

Let me know.

No nothing happens beforehand. Yes it's overdue for a tune-up!

Hi,

Not being there makes it difficult for me to be certain, but based on the issue, I would at a minimum remove the spark plugs for inspection. See what condition they are in. If they appear worn, I would replace them with the spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor button.

Here is a link you may find helpful:

Also, if you remove them, take a few pics of them, and upload them for me to see.

Let me know.
